GIS Reminders!
Good morning GIS Families!
We have had the BEST first two weeks of school! The start was smooth and super positive!
I wanted to review a few things with you that would help us out so much.
The doors of the campus open at 7:20am. This is when most of our staff is on duty.
Students may eat breakfast between 7:20am-7:55am.
Our school day begins at 7:55am, and arrival time after that means your student is tardy for school.
Tardy numbers restart every 9 weeks along with the grading period.
1-3 unexcused tardies- warning
4-6 unexcused tardies- lunch detention
7-9 unexcused tardies- midday detention
10 or more- 1 day in ISS
A tardy with a Doctor's note is considered excused.
Once a student reaches 10 tardies in a grading period, we will meet to discuss barriers and possible solutions.
Please do not get out of your vehicle when waiting in the "loop" or the front. If you need to speak to a staff member, you must park your car in the northern parking lot located at the front of our campus. This is to ensure safety first for students and staff, and also a continued flow of traffic in both pick up locations.
If you have not had an opportunity to pay for your student's school supplies, please make arrangements to do so August 24th-28th or get with us for a payment plan.
If you have paid the fee and your child still does not have their supplies, please email or call us and let us know. We will get it fixed right away.
Transportation changes are to be taken care of by letter, email, or phone call before 2:00pm. This helps us get ALL students where they are supposed to be at the end of the school day, and safely home to you.
Cafeteria visitors are welcome! Please only bring food for you and your child. We do not host birthday parties. No door dash for students, no exceptions.
We are thoroughly impressed with our students, and the start of the school year! We know you had a huge hand in that as well! Thank you!
