Enrollment

As a public school system, we welcome all students that meet state age and health requirements. If your student has never enrolled in Gilmer ISD, or did not finish the previous school year, parents will need to complete new student enrollment.  This step will need to be completed before registration at a campus may begin.  Once you submit the New Student Enrollment, a counselor or registrar will call you to schedule a time to complete the rest of the registration process.  Then you may schedule classes and will be given valuable student information.  For specific enrollment information that is not listed below, please contact your child's school.

  • Option One                                                                                                                                                   

    If your child is age 3 or 4 by September 1st of the current year, please use the PK 3 & 4 Enrollment Form. The campus associated with this age group is the Early Education Campus (Entity 104).

    Option Two

    If your child is in Kindergarten – 6th grade, please use the KG – 6th Enrollment Form. The campuses associated with these age groups are Gilmer Elementary School (Entity 102) grades KG – 4th or Gilmer Intermediate School (Entity 103) grades 5th – 6th.

    Option Three

    If your student in the 7th – 12th grade, please use the 7th – 12th Enrollment Form.  The campuses associated with these age groups are Bruce Junior High School (Entity 041) grades 7th -8th or Gilmer High School (Entity 002) grades 9th – 12th.

    • Copy of Birth Certificate
    • Copy of Social Security Card or Number (if you don’t have this an State ID # will be assigned)
    • Most Current Immunizations
    • Parent Driver’s License-Current Texas DL or Passport
    • Proof of Residency (utility bill, mortgage lease, rental agreement, etc.)

     

     

    For PreK and Headstart Students the district will also need the following documents:

    • Paystubs (the two most recent – for PreK only)
    • Tax Return Documentation (Headstart only)
    • Withdrawal paperwork from previous district
    • Transcript (High School only) or last report card
    • Special Programs paperwork including but not limited to Special Education, Bilingual/ESL, Dyslexia, etc.
    • Custody paperwork
    • Foster Care Documentation
    • CPS paperwork
    • Adoption Record
