high school math resources

Posted Date: 05/19/26 (12:00 PM)

Good Morning Buckeye Families,

Recently the State Board of Education reviewed and approved new math resources to be implemented in high school math courses such as Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus.  After an extensive review of the state approved materials, a Textbook Selection Committee recommended the adoption of SAVVAS materials for Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry.  McGraw-Hill materials were recommended for adoption in Pre-Calculus courses.  These materials will be implemented in classrooms beginning in the 2026-2027 school year when classes resume in August.

If you have a student who will be in an advanced math course at Bruce Junior High School or have a student at Gilmer High School who will be enrolled in Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry, you are invited to review these materials that your student will be using in these courses.  Please feel free to review these materials at the Gilmer ISD Administration Building located at 245 N. Bradford St. between the 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. beginning Tuesday, May 19 through Tuesday, June 2.  Sample materials will be available for you to review in the Director of Student Services office.  Gilmer ISD offices will be closed on Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day.
