Gilmer ISD has had a long tradition of encouraging and offering parental involvement and engagement opportunities for parents in their child's education.  Gilmer ISD encourages parents to volunteer to serve on district and campus committees to provide input on district and campus decisions, volunteer on campuses, attend parent meetings and events on campuses, review instructional resources to be implemented in the classroom, and review their child's attendance and grades on a regular basis through Skyward.  The Texas Education Agency has recently published a flyer outlining and identifying parental rights and options.  Gilmer ISD is sharing that flyer with parents in this post.
